Hello.

Welcome to the Makeready Podcast. On this show I have conversations with successful creative professionals about how they make their ideas happen for a living.

Episode 007: Marty Butler

Episode 007: Marty Butler

On this episode Marty Butler and I talk about about finding yourself as a designer and allowing yourself to recognize your best direction in the world, as opposed to following the path you think you are supposed to follow.

When Marty and Adam realized they did not want to spend their lives climbing the ladder towards the industry standard lifestyle of elite advertising executives, they set out form some individual self discovery and eventually came back together in Austin as their own independent firm.

There is an ernest positivity behind the Marty and Adam’s work that comes from doing work they best align with. The Butler Brother’s work focuses on making the world a more sustainable place “Because doing the opposite sucks for everyone involved.”

The Butler Brothers innovated new ways to tell brand stories through video. In creative circles we now know these as brand videos—similar to brand books.

Check out Marty Butler’s work here: thebutlerbros.com.

Check this one out and then take some time to think about where you are with your career. Then, let me know what you think.

P.S. As I start to get more of these episodes under my belt, I start to notice I have a feeling of affirmation after each conversation. I real hope this is a feeling that is carrying through to you as a listener, and you feel as realigned within your careers after hearing these conversations as I do after having them.
