On Makeready podcast Duncan Robertson hosts discussions about how designers and other creative professionals make their ideas happen for a living. The show is a forum for discussions about creative career development, professional practices, important career milestones, and finding satisfaction with creative work. These conversations explore and share differing definitions of success, business strategies, philosophies, and practical lessons learned through experience.
Makeready is founded on my curiosity about how others “do it.” It officially began as my MFA thesis project and has continued to grow from there.
An all too rare Austin native, Duncan Robertson is a diverse designer known for his focus on UI/UX design and his decades-long passion for typography. He is the creator and host of Makeready Podcast which features conversations with world class designers discussing milestones throughout their creative lives. He stays active in the local and national design community as a member of AIGA, a former volunteer (and now attendee) of the Creative Summit, and a regular volunteer/attendee at UnderConsideration’s Austin Initiative for Graphic Awesomeness (AIforGA), and Brand New Conference. Duncan lives in east Austin with his wife, Tedrah, and their infant son, Quilliam, where he remains a student of life, design, classic cocktails, music (listening and playing), comedy, art, skateboarding, basketball, and soccer.
